About

The African Safari Guiding Academy was started in 2014 by Milton Rieback who has been working in African Wildlife Conservation, Preservation, Education and Eco-Tourism for over 20 years.

The first courses offered were the In-Ex-Situ Courses mainly catering to Zoological staff from zoos and aquariums from around the world.

During the In-Ex-Situ courses Milton also continued to assist in training student field guides for FGASA level 1 at the Limpopo Field Guiding Academy.

Now, Zoological staff or wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world interested in working with African wildlife and those interested in becoming Safari Guides, have an opportunity to join in on an adventure than can help conserve African Wildlife!

We now also offer Safari Trips for people who are looking to be immersed in a true African Safari experience away from commercialism.

We now offer training and tours to both South and East Africa.

Our Vision

"Although people working with in-situ conservation and people working in ex-situ conservation have the same passion and ultimately share the same goals for the future survival of the species they work with, there is a huge rift and lack of communication between the two camps.

I have been blessed to have been a part of both worlds for over 20 years and hope to build a bridge between the two camps.

At the African Safari Guiding Academy (ASGAI), we envision building a new era of ex-situ conservationists and field guides, by enabling them to be a part of both worlds by strengthening their knowledge of animal behavior and conservation in a natural setting. We strive to offer courses at the highest standards, enabling future generations of conservationists to work towards a brighter future."
